Original Etching - Red-necked Stints
This is a dry point etching of two red-necked stints coming in to land after their long haul flight from Siberia. It's amazing that these tiny little birds, that would easily fit in your hand, fly all that way twice a year!
I've been working a lot on Australia's shore and migratory birds recently due to the new book I'm currently making entitled Beach Birds. This has led me to find some important projects happening including The Overwintering Project which invites artists to submit work featuring Australia's migratory birds. I initially made these two stints for one of these projects run by the Overwintering Project called The Wall Of Wings which will be exhibited in the Louis Joel Gallery, Altona, Vic from 7-20 October 2022. The etchings I am selling here online are a small edition from the pieces I made for the Wall Of Wings installation.
This etching is sold unframed and unmatted. It is printed on 350gsm Hahnemuhle paper. Each original print is numbered, signed and titled. The print you receive is not necessarily the one pictured. This piece is large and will be carefully rolled and posted in a tube.
