Wings Spread Wide, Wedge-tailed Eagle - Original Etching
How majestic is the Wedge-Tailed Eagle? So distinct in flight and astonishingly big when you're lucky enough to get up close. These eagles are Australia's largest bird of prey and we're lucky enough to have a pair living relatively close by.
This large dry point etching is made by scratching the image into copper. Inking up by hand by rubbing ink all over the plate then wiping back the excess so the ink is only left in the scratched lines. Then it is pulled through the printing press with damp paper. For each subsequent print the plate needs to be re-inked.

This etching is sold unframed and unmatted. Please note, the edition number you will receive will not necessarily be the one pictured.
If you are interested in purchasing it framed please contact me. I might have a framed one in stock (for local pick up only as it is too big for me to post without suitable protective packaging. I live in Guildford in central Victoria.) or I can arrange for it to be framed by my framer (please allow at least a month for this.) Alternatively I can post it straight to your framer of choice. Please contact me if you are thinking about any of these options or if you have any questions.
