Original Drypoint Etching - Fairywren Flight (skewiff))

*PLEASE NOTE - 7 out of 20 of this edition are ever so slightly skewiff, this listing is for a slightly skewiff one (hence the reduced price.) What happened is this - when I cut down the metal plate I must have measured slightly wrong. The width of the image at the top is 38cm but at the bottom is it 39cm. (I was clearly distracted that day.) After printing 7 of them I figured out why the plate wasn't fitting on my registration sheet and fixed the issue. The slightly off sizing isn't that noticable if you were to get this piece framed with a float mount, but it would drive your framer mad if you requested a window mount (especially if you didn't tell them of my mistake!) So if you like a piece that is a bit unique and you're happy with things not being 100% perfect then this could be a good option! To be honest I think the movement of the fairywren taking off and heading into the opposite corner kind of works with the slightly stretched bottom left corner!

This was a bit of a collaboration with my chickens! After I scratched the female fairywren image into the large aluminium plate I left it in their chicken coop for a few days so they would walk all over it and create some interesting lines for the background. To be honest they were a bit slack with their side of the collab, a bit too tentative with their mark making, so I finished off the job myself, but I do like the results! 

It depicts a female superb fairywren in the moment of taking off.

The colours are closer to the first two photos, the last few are taken in the warm light of golden hour as the sun was beaming its last for this gorgeous early Autumn day. 

This is an original dry point etching, inked up by hand and pulled through my printing press on Hahnemulhe cotton rag paper. 

This etching is sold unframed and unmatted. Please note, the edition number you will receive will not necessarily be the one pictured.

It will arrive loosely rolled in a postal tube with protective tissue paper.

Returns Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Additional non-returnable items:

- Gift cards

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)

- Book with obvious signs of use

- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error

- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Refunds Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.

Late or missing refunds If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. Sale items Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Gifts If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.
